NARRATIVE:
GREENSBORO, NC – Two men sustained injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi in central Guilford County.
The accident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. on US-29 near Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.
Police say that a Ford F250 pickup truck and a northbound Kenworth 18-wheeler collided when the driver of the Ford failed to yield right of way while turning south out of the cemetery.
Medics transported both drivers to an area hospital. The driver of the pickup truck sustained life-threatening injuries, while the semi driver’s injuries were minor.
In addition to injuries, the collision caused the Kenworth to leak bleach onto the highway. Officials closed the roadway while Hazmat crews worked to clear the spill.
A full investigation is underway.
